Organic Products For All Your Needs
If you want to insure the purest ingredients and safety, then consider using organic products for all your needs. Organic products include more than just foods, they also include cosmetics, hair care products, pet foods, cleaning products and skin care products.
Farmers don’t grow these items using chemical pesticides, fungicides, sewage sludge or fertilizer but must use bio-friendly means to keep away pests and encourage growth. If you select organic meat, dairy products, poultry or eggs then you have assurance that growth hormones and antibiotics aren’t part of the process when they raise the animals.
Hair products, lotions, cosmetics and cleaning products also come from natural products. There are no chemicals in these either and the cleaning products are eco friendly.
The organic label means that they contain 95% organic material. If you notice, there is a bit more of a charge when you buy organic items. The reason is that they are more labor-intensive products to grow and produce.
You may question why you would want to pay more money for organic products. Many consumers buy organic because it is eco friendly, but there’s more to it than just that fact.
Research into the anabolic steroids, growth hormones and antibiotics given to cattle affect the sperm count later in life of unborn male children when the mother consumes the beef when pregnant.
A study found that the sperm concentration was almost 25% higher in women with low beef diets and was below fertility levels for 18% of the male children born to women in higher meat consumption groups.
There are other studies that link to breast cancer and cows fed Zeranol, a growth hormone. Antibiotic resistant strains of e-coli and salmonella come from the continuous use of these on animals raised for human consumption. It also can increase an allergic response to antibiotics in individuals.
Often, the grain fed to cattle contains pesticides and herbicides. These accumulate in the cattle’s body and passes onto consumers in the meat. When you consider this and add it to the small amount of herbicide and pesticides on fruits and vegetables, you start to see that it isn’t a matter of one small item, but the collective group that makes people switch to organic products.
Each small dose isn’t enough to make you ill, but over a long period of time, the toxins accumulate, often in fat cells and await release. Sometime the body fights off the toxic effect but it lowers resistance to other infections and opportunistic diseases. Often a sudden weight loss from an illness, releases the toxins all at once when the body is least able to defend itself.
You don’t ingest beauty products and cleaning products but the effect is the same. The skin absorbs toxins, just as though you ingest them since the skin is permeable. Although there is not as strict control over labels of organic on beauty products, it’s wise to consider them but also read the label of ingredients.
Foods that contain the highest level of pesticides include apples, celery, cherries, peaches, pears, potatoes, imported grapes, nectarines, red raspberries, spinach, strawberries and bell peppers according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Fruits and vegetables were tested and these contained higher concentrations of pesticides.
The farming and manufacturing methods also are important in the process of organic product production. These products use Earth friendly techniques that protect the environment for the next generation. Whether you choose organic products because you worry about the effect of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics, or just want a better environment, their increased popularity makes their purchase far easier than it was several years ago.
